What is a webhook?

A webhook is a simple and easy-to-use way to source outside information and use that to automatically create scheduled posts and queue posts. One can also view a webhook as a simplified API with a single purpose, namely to create posts.

The sources that can send information to a webhook are limitless.

Here are just a few examples of potential sources:

  • Entries published on RSS feeds.
  • Emails that you send to a specific email address of yours.
  • Mobile app that an external developer developed for this purpose.
  • Software that you wrote yourself.
  • And many, many more.
