Can I schedule Pins for Pinterest boards that belong to other people?

If you serve clients whom ask you to post pins to their Pinterest boards, then please take note of the following.

To schedule updates for a Pinterest board that belongs to another Pinterest user, make sure that you and that person follow one another on Pinterest. Then navigate to developers.pinterest.com and add that other person as a Developer of your Pinterest application. You will then be able to authorize access to the other person's Pinterest account and add their boards as social accounts in your SocialOomph account via Networks, Connect Social Account, Pinterest in the menu.

Here is a step-by-step procedure:

  1. Make sure that you and the owner of the board follow one anther.
  2. Add the owner of the board as a Developer of your application at developers.pinterest.com.
  3. Log out of your account at pinterest.com.
  4. In SocialOomph, go to Networks, Connect Social Accounts, Pinterest and click the Authorize button.
  5. When asked by Pinterest to log in, log in with the username and password of the owner of the board, do not log in with your own Pinterest username and password.
  6. Click the approval prompt that Pinterest presents to you.
  7. Then, when you're back at SocialOomph, add the boards by clicking their checkboxes.
