Why are there differences between dld.bz click numbers and other click analytics programs?

The dld.bz service tracks as a "click" every time that it routes a visitor from the short URL to the long URL. We filter out any visitor that does not use a recognized browser user agent string.

Since many scripts and bots unfortunately use fake user agent strings that imitate browsers, those visitors will also count as clicks. This is usually the reason why you will find that dld.bz clicks are higher then other services, such as Google Analytics.

Another reason is that many services use JavaScript to count clicks. Hence, they miss visitors that have JavaScript disabled in their browsers. We don't miss those visitors.
